Health Information Management
The University of Cincinnati Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management may be the next step in your HIM career. This HIM progression program enables Registered Health Information Technologists (RHIT) to connect with a community of their peers while gaining the knowledge and skill set for taking the RHIA certification exam. The online UC HIM degree program combines the quality and high standards of UC’s on-campus program with the flexibility of online studies.

This RHIT progression program builds on the knowledge and skills acquired through prior education and work experience.
Curriculum
The Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management is a degree program that is specially designed for the working student. As a student in this program you will be assigned to a small cohort of your peers led by a faculty member.

The Office of the Dean and the administrative staff of the College of Allied Health Sciences are dedicated to the success of our students in the online Bachelor’s in Health Information Management program and their future careers.

Are there any other additional courses for the HIT program such as prerequisite classes that need to be taking in addition to the core classes? If so can you send me the link to review the information.

Hello Latoya, in order to apply for our program you need an AS degree from a CAHIIM accredited institution. If you have this, we will not require any prerequisite courses or anything further. If you have any additional questions or would like to move forward please contact me. Thanks.

I currently have a AAS in legal administration, could I enroll into your bachelor program for HIM?
Hello LaToya, I’m very sorry but you need the following to apply:
AS degree in HIM or HIT from a CAHIIM accredited program
GPA of 2.60 or better
Current AHIMA membership
RHIT or eligibility to sit for exam (if you are a recent grad)
