Dr. Elizabeth King — Dean

Elizabeth King, PhD, was appointed dean of the College of Allied Health Sciences at the University of Cincinnati in June 2002. Previously, Dr. King served as the dean of Health and Human Services at Eastern Michigan University and associate director of academic affairs at the Council of Higher Education in Frankfurt, Kentucky. She also taught at the State University of New York at Buffalo following completion of her doctorate from Pennsylvania State University.

Since her coming to the University of Cincinnati, the College's enrollment has grown from 472 to 1,668, i.e. 253% including enrollment in newly developed cutting–edge distance learning programs such as Associate to Bachelor's completion programs in Clinical Laboratory Science and Health Information Management and a Master's Degree program in Speech Language Pathology. Other program development has included the addition of Sonography, a Coordinated Program in Dietetics, a Health Science Bachelor's degree, and a Physician Leadership Program sponsored by Humana, Inc. The Clinical Doctorate in Physical Therapy was approved by the Ohio Board of Regents in March 2007 with the first class enrolled in Fall 2007.

Dr. King has authored two textbooks and over 25 journal articles, and has made numerous invited presentations.
